The Voyage - Poem 1.1

We flourished here. We thrived here.

A thousand lifetimes from home.

Borne upon the backs of silver beasts,

Sailing the starry skies, surfing the Milky Way,

Some sleeping, some dreaming,

Others awake, aware of the passage of time.

The corridors that marked the passage,

The weary faces that marked the days, hours

Minutes, seconds, and still more

And we, a life postponed,

A new life promised, out here among the stars,

We flourished here.

We thrived here.

But our journey has just begun.
